One must of course visit Forum Romanum and Colosseum during the stay in Rome. Forum Romanum is an enormous excavation of the ancient Rome and Colosseum is a massive amphitheatre where numerous gladiators and animals were killed.

Circo Massimo was during the antiquity the biggest stadium in Rome where for example competitions with hourses and carriages were held. As many as 200 000 spectators were able to witness the competitions. Today Circo Massimo is only a big lawn, so it is not really worth wile visiting.
