Fontana di Trevi
Strangely enough Fontana di Trevi is quite difficult to find, even though it is an enormous fountain. One walk around in small alleys and streets and all of a sudden this fantastic creation appears in a small square, almost as if in a backyard.
.

Fontana di Trevi was designed by Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini and completed 1762.
The main theme of the fountain is water. Water squirts and pours out everywhere. In the middle of the fountain stands the God of the sea Neptune.
Perhaps we all remember the famous scene from Fellini’s movie La Dolce Vita when Anita Ekberg takes a bath in Fontana di Trevi. Bathing in the fountain is not allowed, however one may throw a coin over the shoulder into the fountain. This is done to make sure one will revisit Rome.
